Week 4: Grammar Quote
School Trip Quiz #1
HW: Finish School Trip by Thursday
I walked into class on time and sat down. I took out my binder reminder and wrote down the agenda. Afterwards, Ms. Nakada read Olivia's blog and even though Olivia wasn't here I got chosen. This is because she wrote a message to Ms. Nakada saying that she was going to pick me. Then, Ms. Nakada corrected Olivia's blog and I started writing this blog. Then, the class took out their notebooks and we started to learn about sentences and their different parts. She used Joell as an example for a sentence. "Joell took notes." The subject is Joell and the predicate is "took notes." We then started talking about this week's quote by Frederick Douglass. It was about how if you learn to read, you will be free. We also learned what an abolitionist is. We then had a discussion but I was so busy typing that I didn't really understand what the discussion was about. Ms. Nakada then told a story about how there were two math teachers. One had a thick accent so the students had to self teach themselves and the other teacher worked really hard to teach his students. However, the students with the teacher that didn't really teach had better scores than the students of the teacher who worked really hard. Ms. Nakada then reviewed New Kid and we then started summarizing Class Act. Afterwards, we started the School Trip quiz. After the quiz, everybody started packing up and putting up their chairs. Then, the bell rang, and we all left.
