Week 17: Grammar / Quote
HW: Complete Inside Out & Back Again
I entered class, and immediately I knew that I'd be picked for the blog, since I was the last person to be chosen. I settled down, and wrote the agenda. Dylan stood up to read his blog, which got us a point, and then chose me to do the blog. Luckily Ben volunteered to help me out with the blog. While everyone was doing readers workshop, I tried to progress on the blog.
Ms. Nakada moved onto the three word description for the poems in Inside Out & Back Again. We had a quick detour conversation on communism and how communism is usually ruled by a dictator. Apparently, communists target rich people and take their money to distribute to everyone.
Everyone then took out their English notebooks, and we wrote the Grammar and Quote of the week. This week's grammar was about bibliographies, and how to write them. Our quote of the week was "Besaydoo, we whisper to each other across the country." by Yalie Kamara. We listened to a podcast that read the poem "Besaydoo" which is where the quote is from. Afterwards, we packed up and left.
