Week 16: Grammar and Quote

NaNo Submissions

Hw: Novel Submissions due Friday

I walked into class and sat in my seat. Ms. Nakada asked Aeryn and Emma if they picked anyone for their blog, they hadn't. They ended up picking me. I went up to the front and sat down.

Then, Ms. Nakada checked the progress of everyone's NaNoWriMo. The class clapped when people got to 100 percent.  Afterwards, Ms. Nakada went back to her desk and told everyone to get out their English notebooks. She showed us proof of reading marks and what they all mean. Everyone copied the notes down in their notebooks and we moved over to the quote of the week. The quote is, "A lot of people notice when you succeed, but they don't see what it takes to get you there" by Dawn Staley.  This women's basketball coach is saying that people see you get to the goal, but they don't see the journey to get there.

Lastly, we worked on creating covers for our novels, about the author notes, our synopsis, and a dedication/author's note/epigraph . We learned what requirements were needed. Everyone packed up, put their chairs up, and left.
