Week 4: Song
Literature Circles
We both started off the class by taking a seat, but before I could take one. Christian ran right at me knocking me over and leaving me on the floor. We both exchanged laughs alongside Hudson, then we all sat down. We got out our materials, while Ms. Nakada put on a guided meditation video. Then, Joell and Josiah got called up to read their blog. This blog will be much better than their blog, but that's beside the point. Once they finished their blog, Ms. Nakada went over their mistakes. Nothing to correct, so it was point worthy. Then Ms. Nakada gave them the option to pick, I already knew it was going to be me because Hudson had been warning me for days.
After Hudson and I called on, we went up to do our blog. Ms. Nakada then started to play the song, "Freedom" by Beyonce feat. Kendrick Lamar. Ms. Nakada had us look over the song, and then asked us for the meaning and also asked us questions. After that, Ms. Nakada told us to go into our literature circles, I was doing something and the internet stopped working.
ENTER HUDSON. *AWESOME MUSIC PLAYS*
Hey. The name is Hudson. Let's do this.
I walked into class, not knowing what was going to happen. I sat down, and pulled out my lunch to eat some food. Then, Minty comes out of nowhere, crashing into me. I freaked out, because it scared me. When Joell and Josiah were called up to read their blog, Joell looked at me. Or, at least I thought he looked at me. After they read their blog, Joell said "Minty."
I knew I was cooked.
Minty chose me to go up and do the blog with her. We then looked over the song, "Freedom" by Beyonce' and Kendrick Lamar. It had tons of allusions, and many details. After we talked about the meaning of the song, Ms. Nakada put on a timer for our literature circle. We had to read and type at the same time, but I didn't want to do that. So, I came up with a plan to read some pages while Minty was typing. I knew for a fact that she wasn't paying attention, so I would just summarize to her what I just read. We would switch roles, I would type, and she would read. Then, she would type, then I would read. As I am typing this, the timer is almost up. Three minutes left, before we left for the day.
