Readers workshop
HW: Read toward your IRP goal.
We walked into class, and sat in our seats. After writing down the Agenda; Ms. Nakada played the "Take a minute" video. Soon after, Ms. Nakada read her lovely blog to the class. (We didn't even know that the teacher can be picked to write the blog! So, that was new.) At the end of her blog, it said, "Who would like to write the blog next?" I, Zoey, immediately shot my hand up, and was picked to do the blog. I picked Dylan to write the blog with me; so that it can be a twins blog! We went to the front of the class, and sat down at the front table. Apparently, we were the first EVER twins to write a blog for the class! I was excited, yet calm.
Ms. Nakada started to play the song of the week, "The man" by Taylor Swift. The song is about the difference between how men in power are treated compared to women. Our thoughts on the music video were understanding, and upbeat! We started to write down our favorite lyrics... "NO WAY!" I said, because Zoey and I, wrote the same favorite lyrics, "I'm so sick of running as fast as I can, wondering if I would get there quicker If I was a man." That definitely confirms we have twin telepathy. Zoey always thought we had it, but we never fully confirmed it. After, Ms. Nakada recorded the class's book percentages! Ms. Nakada came back to her seat, and told us that everyone was here! We had a perfect attendance. "AWESOME!" Zoey said.
Later, I heard Joell chuckle and said, "My English teacher has TikTok!" I chuckled a bit as well. As people came back from the library, Olivia came back with two giant books about America, and said,"I'm going to do some light reading." I definitely got the joke there! The class fell silent, as we started to read our books! Soon, we packed our belongings. We left knowing who we were going to pick next! 😝
Oh, and by the way, at the end of class Ms. Nakada said, "That's not even true!" To her having TikTok!
