NaPoWriMo: Day 9
HW: Read & write a poem a day
I walked into class, sat down, and wrote in my binder reminder. We watched a take a minute video, and then Ameliana and Angelina read their blog. I tried really hard to hide from Ameliana, but she picked me, so I asked Chrysta to help. After that, we opened our English notebooks and took notes on the week 12 lines "Poetry" by Yrsa Daley-Ward.
After we listened to the poem, the class read the poem twice. Then, we discussed the poem and moved on to reading another one. We read and later discussed "Power" by Audrey Lorde which was a much heavier poem. Then, we started writing our poems. Our prompts today were the Day Six and the Day Seven prompts. Ms. Nakada went kid by kid asking us how many poems we had written. After we finished writing our poems, we packed up and waited for the bell.
