Week 13: Grammar, Quote

NaPoWriMo: Day 13

HW: Read & Write a poem a day!

I walked into class and took my seat. After the bell rang, Ms. Nakada started the take a minute. While the take a minute was playing, I had to get up to sharpen my pencil. After I was done sharpening my pencil, I took my seat, and I waited for Rahm to read his blog. Rahm's blog was fairly long, but it wasn't bad. Rahm told me before class that I am one of the people that he wanted to be picked for the blog. Sadly, I got picked by him. Jenson wanted to help me with the blog, and I wanted some one to help me with it, so I chose him to help me. I had to wait a bit to start the blog, because my computer was having problems, and Jenson's computer died, so we had to charge it. After the computer had some battery, Ms. Nakada signed into her account and then we started the blog. The first thing that we worked on was the grammar, which was more parts in the poetry toolbox. The three parts were imagery, metaphors, and symbolism.

We started to read the quote which was "Poetry is not a luxury. It is a vital necessity to our existence." by Audre Lorde. We then moved on to poems, and started with "To the Young Who Want to Die" by Gwendolyn Brooks. We then moved on to "O Captain! My Captain!" by Walt Whitman. After this, we started writing our poems. We have to be at 13 poems written today, and the prompt for today is home. After writing the poems, we packed up, put the chairs up, and then left waiting to know if we have school because of the strike that could possibly happen.
