Week 10: Grammar - Quote

The Outsiders: Chapter 1/2

HW: Reread T.O. Ch 3/4!

As I walked into class, I knew that Angelina was going to pick me. She said she was during math. After, she read her first blog, she said loud and proudly, "I pick Hudson." After hearing those words, I got up, and sat down. I then began typing, starting to overthink about messing up. Ms. Nakada then started the timer for createtober, and within a couple of minutes it went off. She then decided to do 3 more minutes. I asked about the Dodgers to Ms. Nakada, because I don't follow that stinky team. I can't be the one to talk, but, I want to. After the timer went off, Ms. Nakada asked, "Okay, so does anybody wanna share?" Olivia volunteered. When she showed off her drawing, it looked like some sort of demon.

Ms. Nakada then asked us to take out our notebooks, and so we did. We went to the first page and wrote down,"Week 10: Grammar and Quote." We made a new page, and wrote down our new writing strategy. Our grammar for the week was "Step up to writing". Then, Ms. Nakada gave us an example about traffic lights. What we do at a green light, yellow light, and a red light, Each light was about what we write when making an essay. Then, Ms. Nakada was trying to talk to the students, asking questions, with only Joell answering. We then did a small drawing about what we do when we write a paragraph. But, the paragraph was about The Outsiders. She then drew two more notebooks, with the first one labeled as "Essay". The other was a second paper about the essay. And, out of nowhere the class wanted to set up a class time call with Mr. Hastings.

After talking about conclusions, summaries, evidence, body paragraphs, and the topic, we wrote the quote of the week. "It does not require many words to speak the truth." - Chief Joseph Nez Perce. (1840-1909) He was from Wallowa. We summarized what he said, and the meaning of the quote. This quote basically means that it is easier to understand the truth. Rather the lie. Today, is "Indigenous Peoples Day." We acknowledged the past of Warm Springs. After, we got up, packed, and left.
