HW: Last letters

  • To Ms. Nakada
  • To yourself
  • To future 8th graders

We walked into class smiling, knowing that it was Norah's birthday! Wohoo! We sat down in our seats, and I gave Norah her last cupcake. (I gifted her a cupcake every period of the day.) Then, we wrote the agenda down in our binder reminders. Ms. Nakada had Seth, and Edgar go up to the front of the class, to read their blog. I, Zoey, already wanted to do the blog as the school year is ending. So, Ms. birthday girl Norah, raised her confident hand, and asked to do the blog. Since we already sat at the front of class, we delightfully started to write the blog at our seats. I was so lucky to keep my computer until Friday; since I have to make the morning announcement script every morning! So, Ms. Nakada logged into my computer, and we started to write this beautiful blog.

Ms. Nakada passed out pieces of paper to all of the students in class with her letter to the class of 2026 printed on it. The class fell silent as she sweetly read it to the class, with joy and emotion. Ms. Nakada then announced that we would be writing our own letters to her, our future selves, and students that will enter 8th grade next school year! We would get the letters we wrote to ourselves mailed to us in four years! Soon, we got to work writing our letters.

I almost went into tears, like ice cream melting on a hot day, while writing to future eighth graders! I realized how many memories, and time I have spent with one special girl. Annoki. We are alike, and share common things. For my future self letter, I am scared to write. I know it will be good. But, also emotional. I remember writing one a while back, and read it the other day. It's very sweet, and brings back my old personality. Although, much hasn't changed. The way you write to your future self, already sets it off with your personality. Just like that... We realized that this was our, and the classes LAST blog. Writing this blog is super fun, and very unique. When the blog was first named "Purple 67 Mr. Branda", I didn't know how things would settle. Now, I realized how much effort and writing has been put into this!

The bell rang, we packed up, and left the classroom! We were very pleased with the last blog of Period 6, class of 2026! ❤
